Rob Page has thanked Vale fans as he takes up the reigns at Northampton while Micky Adams has ruled out being his replacement.
Adams told the Sentinel that he was not interested in returning to the Valiants for a third spell commenting: “I enjoyed my two times at Vale but it wouldn’t be right for me to come back.”
Meanwhile, new Northampton boss Page was gracious in his praise for Vale supporters telling the press: “The day when I got the job – to be called Port Vale manager was a fantastic day for myself.
“It is mixed emotions, I am pleased now for myself that I have moved on and am part of another fantastic football club. But I have left a club where I have a lot of time and respect for the supporters there.”
“I would like to wish the supporters all the very best for the club.”
