Patient Page thinks Kelly will be key next season
Manager Rob Page thinks that winger Sam Kelly will develop more consistency in his second season at Vale.
Kelly has produced flashes of quality this season but Page is a firm believer that it takes time to adapt to “men’s football” – and arguably his patience with not rushing the likes of JJ Hooper, Enoch Andoh and Remie Streete proves him correct.

Talking to the Sentinel Page said: “He has shown he can play and has shown he has quality. He has scored three of our best goals and one of them is definitely going to win goal of the season for me, so stop voting now!
“He has shown his potential but in fits and starts. He is a year older and he will be better off for having had that experience for a year and playing men’s football which is totally different to under-21s.
“That is going to make him a better player for next season. We will expect more on a consistent basis for longer periods of time.”
