Match Report: Blackpool 0-1 Port Vale
Striker AJ Leitch-Smith scored Vale’s first goal of 2016 as they started the year with a 1-0 away win over Blackpool.
Rob Page kept faith with the same starting eleven that beat Bury with fit-again Louis Dodds on the bench.
Blackpool had the first chance with former Vale loanee Andrew Little messing up a one-on-one chance. However, Vale had the best of the possession during a goalless first period.
The home side felt that they had valid claims for a penalty early in the second half and Vale made them pay almost immediately as they broke and AJ Leitch-Smith scored to put Vale ahead.
The Valiants had further chances to add to their lead through Moore and Foley but in the end they managed to shut out Blackpool to pick up a welcome three points away from home.
