Page won’t appeal red card and talks to captain about discipline
Manager Rob Page says that the club will not appeal the red card that was given to captain Carl Dickinson on Saturday.
Page told the Sentinel: “We can’t appeal it. Maybe you can’t defend him on that one. It is something I have had a chat with him this morning about.
I can’t worry about the other players, I worry about the discipline of my own. It is disappointing now to lose him for the three games…
“Their player has done a job on him, he has reacted to something that has happened to him, which is out of order from the other player. But I can’t worry about the other players, I worry about the discipline of my own.
“It is disappointing now to lose him for the three games.”
The ban will rule Dickinson out of action for the next three games. Vale are likely to move Ryan McGivern to left-back and recall Remie Streete to the centre of the defence.
Ironically, after picking up nine yellow cards last season, Dickinson had just two to his name before the game against Rochdale on Saturday.
