Ikpeazu’s Port Vale future uncertain
On loan striker Uche Ikpeazu’s future at the club is unclear despite praise from assistant manager Paul Bodin.
Ikpeazu’s loan spell runs out in the New Year. Prior to putting the club up for sale, Norman Smurthwaite suggested that he would be in talks with parent club Watford over an extension or even a permanent move but both those options are in doubt now that the club is up for sale.
However, Bodin told the Sentinel: “Uche is still very much part of the plans at the moment. He is only here until January but that is still to be discussed and it is ongoing.
“He is a big part of the squad and he comes on and makes an impact now which perhaps he wasn’t doing when he was first left out of the team.
“He is a great lad, Uche. He has been working hard and, as I have mentioned many times in the past, he doesn’t want to get off the training ground so we are still continuing with his development. But at the moment Ajay is leading the line very well for us.”
