Port Vale 3-0 Doncaster Rovers
A brilliant all-round performance saw the Valiants dominate Doncaster and secure their first league win of the season.
Vale welcomed back the lively Enoch Andoh and he was prominent in Vale’s early pressure that saw Rovers keeper Thorsten Stuckmann pull off three superb saves. The Doncaster stopper then surpassed himself by saving Sam Foley’s penalty as it looked like all Vale’s dominance would be for nothing.
But Foley made amends with a glancing header to open the scoring and then the impressive Uche Ikpeazu scored his first goal at Vale Park minutes into the second period.
Vale continued to dominate play and Byron Moore’s cheeky backheeled finish was the perfect end to a highly impressive team performance.
Now bring on West Brom!
