Inniss substitution was ‘just a precaution’
Manager Rob Page says that Ryan Inniss’ early substitution against Altrincham was “just a precaution” and the defender will be fit for the Crewe game.
Inniss was taken off ten minutes into the 2-1 win sparking fears that he could be set for a spell on the sidelines. It would be another blow for Vale who are already missing Chris Neal and Michael O’Connor for the season opener.
There is still time this week to get the fitness into him and he will be ready for next Saturday…
However, manager Rob Page told the Sentinel: “It was just a precaution. He jarred his elbow slightly.”
“Ideally we would have wanted him to play more minutes but that is football for you. We would rather manage him and bring him off as a precaution than risk playing hm and him getting another knock on it.
