Adam Yates joins Northampton Town on loan
Port Vale defender Adam Yates has joined Northampton Town on a month-long loan.
The 32-year-old will remain at Sixfields Stadium until September 26th and could be in line to make his debut at Newcastle United on Tuesday evening.
Yates has made over 200 league appearances for Vale since he joined the club in 2009 but he is yet to feature for Rob Page’s side so far this term due to the fine form of new signing Ben Purkiss.
Northampton Town manager Chris Wilder told the official website: “Adam is a consistent performer and he adds some more experience to the squad which we were looking for.
“He has played a lot of games in League One and League Two and he gives us that stability.
“I had Adam as a kid on loan from Crewe when I was at Halifax and Marc Richards, who played a lot of games with him at Port Vale, is full of praise for him.
“He is another strong character to add to the group that we’ve already got and I’m sure he will have no problems fitting in to what we are trying to do.”
