Rob Page ponders alternatives to Inniss
Port Vale manager Rob Page says “there comes a point when you have to move on” as Vale’s pursuit of Ryan Inniss stalls.
The Valiants have made it clear that the Crystal Palace youngster was their number one loan target but the deal appears to have reached an impasse.
There’s going to have to come a point when we have to decide to do one thing or another and move on with it…
Page told the Sentinel: “We have to have other players in mind. We can’t keep going down the Ryan Inniss avenue. If it’s not to be we have to move on, like we have done with other players this summer.
“I think we’re a little bit light in the centre-half position to be honest.
“If we’re looking at things, maybe it’ll be another centre-half to bolster the squad.
“We’re still in contact with Ryan (Inniss), but there’s going to have to come a point when we have to decide to do one thing or another and move on with it.
“We’ve made it clear that we would like him to be part of what we are trying to do at the club, but there’s only so much we can do. There comes a point when you have to move on.”
