Former Valiants: Exodus for Torquay, Whitaker commits…
One of Port Vale’s most maligned former players – Exodus Geoghaghan, has signed for Conference National side Torquay United.
Geoghaghan was signed by ill-fated Vale manager Jim Gannon but was seen by supporters as one of Gannon’s (and the club’s) poorest signings.
The 30 year-old ended last season at Sourbridge but impressed Torquay manager Paul Cox while on trial this summer. He has agreed a one-year deal.
Former midfielder Danny Whitaker has agreed a new deal with Macclesfield Town. The 34 year-old joins another former Valiant, player of the year George Pilkington, in committing to the club.
Meanwhile, former defender Chris Robertson has suffered a blow. Robertson moved to SPL side Ross County in the summer but has suffered a broken hand while playing in a friendly and may now miss the start of the season.
