Chris Birchall signs new deal with Port Vale FC
Experienced midfielder Chris Birchall has agreed a one-year deal with the Valiants.
The 31 year-old was used as a squad player last season but still managed to find the net three times in 30 appearances. He will doubtless provide experienced cover for the wings and central midfield.
Birchall first joined the club at nine years of age and left to join Coventry City in 2006. He returned for a second spell in 2013 and has now amassed almost 200 appearances for the club. He is also the club’s most-capped International.
Manager Rob Page told the official Port Vale website: “We’re pleased that Chris has signed a new contract.
“He’s a local lad who knows what Port Vale Football Club is all about and he is an extremely hard working player as well, both going forward and defensively.”
