Rob Page scouting for key new staff member
Rob Page’s revamp of his backroom staff will include the addition of a new chief scout.
According to the Sentinel, Page is also set to appoint a new assistant manager and goalkeeping coach next week.
If we want to move forward as a football club we have to compete with everybody else…
Page told the newspaper: “We haven’t got the money where I can get 10 new players I don’t know about. We haven’t had a chief scout last season so I haven’t got someone saying there’s eight that I flagged up from last season.
“That’s something we have to address this season, we can’t have that. If we want to move forward as a football club we have to compete with everybody else.”
Vale have been lacking a dedicated scout since George Foster left for Swansea City. Foster was reportedly instrumental in Vale signing striker Jordan Hugill.
