Rob Page: Lines ‘is still my player’
Manager Rob Page says he will welcome Chris Lines back with “open arms” if he doesn’t move to Bristol Rovers in the summer.
Lines has another year to run on his contract but is widely expected to move to Rovers if a deal can be agreed. Lines spent a successful loan spell with the Bristol club.
I have always said to Linesy that come pre-season he is still our player for next year…
Page told the Sentinel: “Linesy knew the situation was that he wasn’t playing so he took the opportunity to go back home. I think he has got a daughter back in Bristol as well so it suited him that he went back there and he was playing regular football on a Saturday.
“He has been part of a promotion winning team and it is great for him. But I have always said to Linesy that come pre-season he is still our player for next year.
“If nothing happens with Bristol Rovers then I will welcome him back with open arms. He is still my player and is going to be part of the squad moving forward.”
