Port Vale 1-2 Fleetwood
Port Vale’s season ended with a disappointing home defeat to Fleetwood on Sunday although Michael O’Connor did score late on.
Manager Rob Page brought in Mo Coulibaly to the starting eleven and also named Ghana U23 International Enoch Andoh on the bench.
Vale unveiled their new first-team kit design for next season but the first-half ended in disappointment as the visitors scored twice in nine minutes.
The Valiants made two changes at the break with Achille Campion and Tommy O’Sullivan came on for Ben Williamson and Michael Brown.
Despite the changes, Vale were not able to get back into the game although striker Tom Pope did hit the bar in the closing stages and Michael O’Connor finally netted in injury-time.
It was a disappointing end but Vale will be grateful that at least their place in League One is secure.
