Rob Taylor player profile:
Pacy left-sided midfielder or defender Rob Taylor signed for Port Vale FC from non-league side Nuneaton Borough in 2008 after a successful trial.
He scored on his debut against Luton Town but lost his place under new manager Dean Glover.
However, when Micky Adams took over, Taylor was employed in a more attacking role and responded with ten goals. Unfortunately, Taylor was regularly sidelined with injuries and struggled to maintain a starting place.
After almost 200 appearances for the club, he was released in 2014 and subsequently joined Mansfield Town. He later had a spell with Tranmere Rovers before moving back into non-league football with Kidderminster Harriers.
He finished his playing career with over 200 senior appearances – the majority during his time at Vale Park.
