Jay O’Shea player profile:
Jay O’Shea was a talented attacking midfielder who joined Port Vale on loan from Birmingham City. He was signed by manager Jim Gannon during his brief spell in charge of the club. O’Shea scored once in a 1-0 win over Rotherham United before the loan spell ended as Port Vale could not afford to extend it.
O’Shea had begun his career playing in Irish football (for the likes of Home Farm, Bray Wanderers and Galway United) but after his Port Vale loan spell he had a successful move to Chesterfield (where he won promotion) and also played for Milton Keynes, Sheffield United (where he also won promotion) and Bury. He then moved to Australia to play football in the A-League.
