Confident Page aims for victory
Manager Rob Page says he thinks the team’s recent performances will give them confidence as they aim for a win to secure their League One safety.
Vale play Yeovil on Saturday and Page told the official Port Vale website: “I think after the confidence and positives we got from Friday’s performance, why can’t we use that as springboard to go again, like we did against Rochdale.
“We didn’t get our rewards that afternoon on Easter Monday, we got a kick in the teeth with a 95th minute defeat but then we didn’t sulk, we rolled our sleeves up and got on with it again.
“We were disappointed not to get the three points at Scunthorpe with a similar thing in the 95th minute but we didn’t let that dwell on us.
“We took that character into the Friday game, down to ten men to get a point against an excellent Preston team was commendable to the lads.
“Now we take that confidence again into Saturday’s game and give that level of performance and if we do I’m confident we will get the win.”
