Sheff Utd 1-0 Port Vale
Port Vale made it three defeats in a row while Michael Brown was sent-off during their loss to Nigel Clough’s Sheffield United side.
Rob Page made two changes with Byron Moore coming in for Colin Daniel and Tom Pope dropped in favour of Ben Williamson.
In a defensive first-half Vale barely tested out the Blades defence and it was the home side who took the lead on the half-hour mark after they won a penalty kick after Murphy was fouled. Jose Baxter converted the spot-kick.
Page made two changes at half-time bringing in Daniel and Pope and the Valiants were brighter in the second period. Sadly, it wasn’t enough and when Michael Brown received a second yellow to reduce Vale to ten men, defeat was inevitable for the Valiants. However, one bright spot for the visitors was a much better performance than the game against Crawley.
