Blow for Vale as Inniss returns to Palace
Port Vale’s hopes of a late surge into the play-offs have suffered a blow with the news that influential defender Ryan Inniss has returned to Crystal Palace.
Vale were hopeful of extending the player’s loan until the end of the season but after an ankle injury forced him to be stretchered off against Coventry, any hopes of a loan extension look doomed.
A scan confirmed that no bones were broken but further tests will need to be conducted to establish the full extent of the injury and Inniss has now returned to Selhurst Park.
He has been a breath of fresh air since he arrived and has played extremely well for us…
Manager Rob Page told the official Port Vale website: “We’re really disappointed, not only because he has been forced to return to his parent club but for Ryan as a player and as a person.
“He has been a breath of fresh air since he arrived and has played extremely well for us. It’s a shame as we had almost finalized a deal to extend his stay at the club.
“Everyone at the club would like to thank him for his contribution and wishes him a speedy recovery.”
