Injury boost for Vale

Winger Colin Daniel could return to action as early as Tuesday’s game against Oldham Athletic.

Daniel suffered an ankle injury against Bradford City but is making good progress.

The news is a boost for the Valiants as winger Mark Marshall limped out of the 3-0 win over Doncaster Rovers on Saturday.

However, Vale now have plenty of cover with Chris Birchall replacing Marshall on Saturday, Louis Dodds also marking his return from injury with an assist for Byron Moore’s goal and loanee Tommy O’Sullivan pushing for a start.
