Former Valiant handed Pools job
Former Port Vale defender Sam Collins is in temporary charge of Hartlepool United following the sacking of Paul Murray.
Murray was dismissed following Pools’ shock FA Cup loss to Blyth Spartans on Friday evening and player-coach Collins is now in temporary charge.
The centre-half is also among the early favourites to secure the role on a permanent basis.
37 year-old Collins played for Vale between 2002 and 2006 and was named player of the year in 2002-2003. He was captain from 2003 to 2006.
