Page: It feels like a win
Manager Rob Page says that Vale’s deserved draw against Gillingham felt like a victory after Michael Brown’s late equaliser secured a point.
Page told the media: “It does feel like a win. I have just said to the boys the attitude and effort they have put in is tremendous. We have to be pleased to come here and dictate our game to them, and impose ourselves on them in the manner we did, and come away with a draw.
I have just told them how proud I am of them…
“They gave me everything. I already had my end-of-game talk ready for them.and I would have been proud of the performance we put in.
“We never accept a defeat – never. But there is a way to lose games of football and we did everything but put the ball in the back of the net up until the 94th minute.
“I have just told them how proud I am of them. That is standard for me, every game we play. We keep going to the 96th minute if we have to. That never-say-die attitude is what they have brought to the table ,they should be commended for that.”
