Colchester Utd 1-2 Port Vale
Rob Page collected his first away win as Port Vale manager after goals from Mark Marshall and Colin Daniel earnt Vale a victory at Colchester.
Page made two changes from the side that started against Leyton Orient with Dany N’Guessan and Remie Streete starting in place of Carl Dickinson and Jordan Slew.
The game started scrappily but burst into life when the home side were awarded a penalty on half an hour. But Chris Neal pulled off a good save to keep it scoreless.
Then Vale took the lead in the second-half when Mark Marshall netted his third of the season on 55 minutes. Four minutes later, Vale made it two when sub Colin Daniel scored just thirty seconds after replacing N’Guessan.
Colchester pulled one back on 78 minutes through the prolific Freddie Sears, but Vale held on to record a valuable away win.
