McGivern, Williamson earn Page praise

Assistant manager Rob Page has praised the contributions of defender Ryan McGivern and striker Ben Williamson this season.

Page told the media: “I think everybody can see that he [McGivern] is aggressive, he is also what I call a proper defender, who looks like he enjoys the art of defending.

When Ben is in the form he was in at Doncaster then in my opinion he is unplayable at this level…

“He has played well alongside Richard Duffy, who is a great talker. I think they have settled in well… He’s not disappointed us.”

Commenting on Williamson, Page noted: “Ben Williamson does a terrific job defensively for us, so we get the best of both worlds. He frightens the life out of defenders with his pace going forward but his discipline has got a lot better over the last couple of months with regards to dropping back.

“When Ben is in the form he was in at Doncaster then in my opinion he is unplayable at this level.”
