Adams unhappy with sloppy start
Manager Micky Adams says that Vale’s poor start was responsible for their home defeat to Notts County.
Talking to the media, Adams said: “It was amazing in the second half, that’s for sure. But I am disappointed with the first half. We can’t come out and start as sloppily as we did. We gave them a goal with a sloppy pass and I just think our passing in the first half and the way we went about our business wasn’t right.
“It was as if we just had to turn up and play -and that’s not good enough. In the second half we got better, did everything right other than score a goal.
“For the first goal we gave a sloppy pass away on the edge of our own box from a corner – they broke on us then there was a deflection and it went in. So, okay no blame there.
“I wouldn’t say we then had a mountain to climb but we certainly had to come out and play.”
