The 29 year-old ball-winning midfielder was offered a new deal by Rovers in the summer but has yet to agree a new contract. Vale are in the market for a central midfielder after seeing Anthony Griffith, Billy Knott and Doug Loft all leave the club at the end of last season.
Jennings began his career with Tranmere after progressing through the team’s junior ranks. He then moved to SPL side Motherwell for a three year spell. After leaving Motherwell, he signed a two-year deal with Coventry but their well-publicised financial problems saw him sidelined for several months before he returned to Tranmere for a second spell in October 2013.
