Page made assistant manager
Port Vale have announced that Rob Page is to be the club’s new assistant manager.
Both Page and former assistant manager Mark Grew have agreed new roles under manager Micky Adams.
Grew is to switch to a new joint role of Goalkeeping coach/Scouting co-ordinator after a two year spell as assistant to Adams.
The switch appears to recognise the growing contribution of Page who has been linked with several other clubs and has been prominent in organising this summer’s pre-season training routine.
Mark is the right person to co-ordinate all our scouts throughout the country and also continuing his excellent work with our current crop of goalkeepers…
Manager Adams commented: “I want to thank Mark for his time as Assistant Manager at the club for the past two years, he has been a brilliant ally to me over this period. When George Foster left his scouting role it left a gap that we needed to fill, and I feel that Mark is the right person to co-ordinate all our scouts throughout the country and also continuing his excellent work with our current crop of goalkeepers.”
“I’d like to stress that this isn’t a demotion but a switch of roles for a great friend of mine.”
“Rob Page has done an excellent job on the training ground and I feel that this is the next progression for Robert Page in his career path.”
