Norton Utd 0-1 Port Vale
Tom Pope scored the only goal of the game as Vale won their third friendly game in four days.
Michael O’Connor was again missing from the Vale side but fellow trialists Sylvestre Guyonnet and Javan Vidal both started with Steve Jennings on the bench.
And Vale got off to a good start when Tom Pope scored after just ten minutes.
However, Norton were proving to be dogged opposition and the score remained 1-0 at the break.
Vale made seven changes at half-time but were still restricted to a solitary goal lead at the final whistle.
