Dickinson injury blow for Vale
Manager Micky Adams says he may need to include youth teamers in the side’s friendlies after defender Carl Dickinson suffered a dislocated finger on Wednesday night.
Dickinson was forced off after 13 minutes and with Vale also resting Tom Pope and Richard Duffy, it leaves the squad short of numbers.
Adams commented: “We sent Carl off to hospital. He went to Bodmin hospital first, but they didn’t have the facilities to treat him so we had to send him to Truro to be assessed.
We are running out of bodies a bit if Dickinson is struggling…
“We rested Duffy and Pope, it’s nothing serious, and we will assess them to see if they are going to be fit for Saturday.
“We are running out of bodies a bit if Dickinson is struggling. We put Ryan Boot on at right-back in the last few minutes just to give people a rest really, so we’ll have a look on Friday. If we need to bring youth team members for Saturday we will do so.”
