Yates makes visit to brain tumour victim
Port Vale player Adam Yates has paid a surprise visit to St John Fisher College to meet Ethan Mannion who is sadly suffering from a brain tumour.
The Port Vale fan has already had brain surgery, a blood transfusion and chemotherapy and has spent much of the last two months at Liverpool’s Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
He will find out in August if he can have radiotherapy treatment.
Ethan is a young lad and none of us can understand what he’s going through, but he’s got the backing of me and the club if he ever needs anything…
Yates is Mannion’s favourite Port Vale player and the right-back commented: “Ethan is a young lad and none of us can understand what he’s going through, but he’s got the backing of me and the club if he ever needs anything.”
Ethan told the Sentinel: “I have met Adam before but he’s my favourite player. I was really excited when I was told I was going to meet him.”
OVF would like to pass on our best wishes to Ethan and his family and we all hope for a full and rapid recovery for Ethan.
