This feature contains rumour and speculation. All of these rumours should be treated as unconfirmed gossip until any move is officially announced by the club itself. We make no apologies for publishing some rumour and gossip (after all, even the state broadcaster, the BBC, publishes a daily Football Gossip column) but we’d just like to reiterate that this feature should not be treated too seriously.
Tomlin, 31, is understood to be leaving Vale despite having one year left on his contract. He had a mixed season after joining Vale which included scoring the winner against Walsall but also included some spells out injured.
The forward was originally linked with a move to former side Southend United but the Sentinel claims that Crawley Town are now favourites as they will offer the striker League One football.
