This feature contains rumour and speculation. All of these rumours should be treated as unconfirmed gossip until any move is officially announced by the club itself. We make no apologies for publishing some rumour and gossip (after all, even the state broadcaster, the BBC, publishes a daily Football Gossip column) but we’d just like to reiterate that this feature should not be treated too seriously.
Davis, the son of Crewe boss Steve Davis, is yet to agree a new contract at Vale Park and should he move to the Premier League side, Vale will be eligible for a compensation fee.
Davis progressed through the junior ranks to make his debut in 2011. He had a loan spell at Luton Town last season and has made 31 senior appearances for the Valiants.
Davis could be the second youngster to exit Vale Park as striker Jordan Hugill is set to join Preston North End.
