Video: The Tony Naylor Legends game
The 7th Town, the people behind the forthcoming Oatcakes film, have produced a short documentary about Sunday’s game between Port Vale and Stoke City.
The Valiants triumphed 8-0 thanks to goals from van der Laan (2), McCarthy, Bridge-Wilkinson, Wilkes, Naylor (2) and Corden.
Robert from the 7th Town film crew told OVF: “It was great for me seeing such a big turn out in Burslem for such a good cause.
“Being a lad from Middleport I understand how important events like these are to our community.
“We need more events like these, to bring the people of North Staffordshire together. I think the supporters of the two teams should unite more often for great local causes – well until Stoke and Vale meet in a cup, at least.”
Oatcakes, which features Vale striker Tom Pope, is set to be released on the 8th August (Oatcake Day) this year.
If for any reason you could not attend the game but would still like to support the charity then donations can be made by text through Just Text Giving. by sending a text to 70070 and using the word APPR30 followed by the amount you would like to donate.
e.g. “APPR30 £5” would see £5 donated to the charity.
