Rumour: Lines linked with League One rivals
Sky Sports are claiming that a number of League One clubs are interested in Port Vale midfielder Chris Lines.
Editorial Note
This feature contains rumour and speculation. All of these rumours should be treated as unconfirmed gossip until any move is officially announced by the club itself. We make no apologies for publishing some rumour and gossip (after all, even the state broadcaster, the BBC, publishes a daily Football Gossip column) but we’d just like to reiterate that this feature should not be treated too seriously.
It is thought Coventry, Bradford, Oldham and Gillingham are all interested in Lines’ signature if he decides to leave Vale Park.
Lines has impressed during his first season at Vale Park and was OVF’s joint player of the season alongside Doug Loft.
However, Lines’ form is unlikely to have been undetected and he is one of fourteen players out of contract in the summer.
With Micky Adams’ future still in doubt, it is not surprising that many players are considering their options and although this story could be agent-talk, it is hardly surprising to see one of Vale’s star performers being linked with other clubs.
Sublime Lines?
Arguably Chris Lines’ best performance of the season was this free-kick against Tranmere Rovers.
