Mohamed set to leave Vale?
Kaid Mohamed’s agent Phil Sproson says the player is set to leave the Valiants if a settlement can be agreed.
Mohamed only made eight appearances for the Vale with the majority of his season spent on loan spells with AFC Wimbledon and Bristol Rovers. However, he still has a year of his contract left to run. If he is released from his contract it will allow Micky Adams (or whoever manages the club next season) more leeway in the transfer market in line with the club’s budgetary limits.
There are no hard feelings towards the Vale from him and I am earnestly looking around to get him an opportunity elsewhere…
According to Sproson, a number of clubs including Oxford United (who ironically have just released another former Vale winger in Sean Rigg) are interested in Mohamed.
Sproson commented: “I would expect the Vale to be fair and honourable with ‘Mo’s’ contract; I am sure they will be.
“There are no hard feelings towards the Vale from him and I am earnestly looking around to get him an opportunity elsewhere.
“The player has been as good as gold. Micky Adams used him sparingly but Mo is a good professional and has never kicked up a fuss, he has never said a bad word against the manager or the club. I think that is a credit to him. It was easy to get him out on loan because he is a player that people will take.”
Mohamed’s season stats
Port Vale: 3+5 games, no goals
AFC Wimbledon: 5 games, no goals
Bristol Rovers: 20+1 games, 4 goals
