Adams will make decision in next ten days
Manager Micky Adams says that he will carefully consider the contract offer from Port Vale and make his decision when he returns from holiday on the 12th May.
Adams has confirmed that he has now received a written contract offer from the club. However, the Vale manager has reiterated that there has been interest in him from other clubs and there could be further delays to him accepting the Vale deal if any amendments have to be made to it.
Talking to the media, Adams said: “Hopefully it will be sooner rather than later. I am going away for a short break next Thursday until the Monday , and I hope to make a decision by then.
If I am happy with the contract, I will sign it. If I am not then it will go backwards and forwards…
“Because I have said there may be other interest in me, I will probably get slated. It might be, ‘Get lost Adams if that is what you want to do’, but I am not saying that. All I am saying is that the football club chose to let my contract run down until the last week of the season, then handed me a contract.
“So now everybody can talk to whoever, and as I said, there has been a little bit of interest in me, which I have been surprised by. But if everything works out and the talks go great with Norman, then I am very happy to stay here. I don’t know why I would want to go anywhere else.
“I will be open and honest with everybody and, if I am happy with the contract, I will sign it. If I am not then it will go backwards and forwards. I have had a quick look through it and some of it I don’t agree with already, and I am not a legal person, so it is going to get passed back anyway.”
