Dodds piles praise on Adams
Louis Dodds says that manager Micky Adams “deserves a lot of credit” for the club over-achieving this season.
I’ve always loved playing here. I like the people and the people seem to like me. I train with a smile on my face and consider myself very fortunate…
Dodds also told the media that he is happy at Vale Park despite his inability to nail down a regular starting place. He commented: “I’ve always loved playing here. I like the people and the people seem to like me. I train with a smile on my face and consider myself very fortunate.
“I live locally and when I go to the shops everyone is friendly. Fans congratulate me when I play well and let me know about it when I don’t play so well, but it’s all good banter.
“There are still four big games left this season and I know the manager will be running us until the final day. He deserves a lot of credit because he drives us on and is a hard taskmaster. His standards are very high and that’s what they need to be.
“At the start of this season we would have bitten people’s hands off to be where we are in the table now. We’ve over-achieved, proved a lot of people wrong and gone to the limits of what we can do.”
Dodds is one of the few Vale players who will be in contract over the summer with his present deal expiring at the end of next season.
