Port Vale FC have officially confirmed that defender Dan Jones has left the club with immediate effect.
The Club has today announced that defender Daniel Jones has left Port Vale with immediate effect…
A short statement on the official club website states: “The Club has today announced that defender Daniel Jones has left Port Vale with immediate effect. Nothing further will be said on the matter at this time.”
Jones was alleged to have been involved in a training ground “incident” with captain Doug Loft last week. Manager Micky Adams confirmed that there was an incident saying: “There was an incident between two players which resulted in one of the players, who I might add is an innocent party to this, receiving a facial injury that has consequently ruled him out for the rest of the season.”
Both Jones and Loft were omitted from Vale’s matchday squad against Notts County.
27 year-old Jones joined the Valiants in January 2013 and made an immediate impression by scoring on his debut against AFC Wimbledon. He was a regular during the second-half of the season as Vale secured promotion from League Two.
However, he has suffered numerous injuries this season and those, combined with the signing of Carl Dickinson, have restricted his appearances this campaign.
