Adams happy with clean sheet
Micky Adams was pleased with his side’s defending during Saturday’s 1-0 home victory over Walsall.
It’s another pleasing win for us and the clean sheet is an added bonus. We’ve not kept many clean sheets this season, but we defended okay today…
Adams told the media: “Our first target was to reach 50 points and now we are on 57 we will try to accumulate as many more as we can in the last five games.
“It’s another pleasing win for us and the clean sheet is an added bonus. We’ve not kept many clean sheets this season, but we defended okay today.
“Carl Dickinson slotted in superbly at left-sided centre-back and we stuck to the task well. Our goalkeeper Sam Johnson has made a couple of saves, but they were saves he would expect to make.
“Our home record is in the top six in the division and it’s always pleasing to win here because it is where the majority of our supporters watch us.
“The players have done well this season and we will keep going to the end. Next Saturday we’ve got a tough game against a Notts County side who are fighting against relegation, but we will go there to be positive and try to win.”
