Grew: no crisis at Vale
Assistant manager Mark Grew says there is no crisis at Port Vale despite the club’s recent poor run of form.
We reached the fourth round of the FA Cup and are 10th in the league. Come on, that’s no crisis…
Grew pointed out that the club are still in a healthy position and that most clubs who have won promotion will suffer a “blip” in the higher division. He stressed that the majority of fans are understanding but criticised a minority who are quick to “give their opinions.”
Grew told the Sentinel: “It would be a crisis if we were in the bottom four. But if we win the next two home games we would be on 49 points and nearly safe.
“We reached the fourth round of the FA Cup and are 10th in the league. Come on, that’s no crisis.
“It annoys me when people come out of the woodwork and can’t wait for you to start losing football matches to give their opinions.
“After the years I have been here I don’t question our fans. Yes they get disappointed but the honest, true supporters will be happy with our situation this year.”
