Port Vale’s selection options could be boosted by the return of three players from injury this week.
Defenders Liam Chilvers and Richard Duffy plus winger Rob Taylor have all returned to training following spells on the sidelines.
Chilvers, Duffy and Taylor have recovered from ankle, groin and knee injuries respectively and are back in training.
The trio were even penciled in to feature in Tuesday’s Staffordshire Senior Cup quarter-final game at Stafford Rangers with coach Mick Ede confirming: “Including the senior pros coming back from injury is a possibility, but other than that it will be pretty much the under-21 squad.”
However, the match against Rangers was called off on Tuesday due to a waterlogged pitch.
