Grew: it won’t be an easy game
Assistant manager Mark Grew is expecting a tough test when Port Vale travel to Shrewsbury Town on Saturday.
I have never gone to Shrewsbury with Port Vale and had an easy game and I don’t expect one on Saturday…
Grew told the media: “They are a wounded animal and they have a caretaker manager in there who wants the job, so if anyone thinks this is going to be an easy game, it won’t be.
“I have never gone to Shrewsbury with Port Vale and had an easy game and I don’t expect one on Saturday.
“They have quality players in there that probably have underachieved a little bit. I didn’t expect Shrewsbury to be down in that position.
“I don’t think a point at home now will get them out of trouble, so it is vital they get all three. I think it will make for an open game.
“We look forward to these games and I think the fans do. It will be a good atmosphere. The stats aren’t good over the last few weeks for Shrewsbury, but stats don’t win football matches.”
