Trio boost Vale ahead of Brighton tie

Striker Gavin Tomlin has handed Port Vale a boost by recovering from injury alongside Rob Taylor and Dan Jones.

Tomlin was taken off after 21 minutes of Vale’s game against Brentford but he has returned to full training and could be in contention for a place in the squad.

Prior to his injury, Tomlin had netted four goals in four games and his return puts pressure on the likes of Ben Williamson and Jordan Hugill.

Meanwhile, Jones and Taylor are expected to training by Friday after somewhat longer spells out injured and are less likely to feature in Saturday’s game.
