Grimmer gives Vale a cup boost
The Vale have received a major boost ahead of their FA Cup tie with Brighton with the news that loanee Jack Grimmer has been allowed to play by parent club Fulham.
The news is a welcome boost for Vale who would otherwise be down to just three available and recognised defenders in Adam Yates, Chris Robertson and Joe Davis. Davis is eligible to play in the cup after being ineligible for the last round because he was on loan at Luton when the first leg against Plymouth was played.
Vale are missing Carl Dickinson (suspended) while Liam Chilvers and Richard Duffy have been ruled out for a number of weeks.
Dan Jones is expected to return to training but this game is likely to be too early for the left-back, so former Brighton player Doug Loft is expected to continue on the left of defence.
