Former Valiant McCombe quits Mansfield
The official Mansfield Town website is reporting that former Vale defender John McCombe has left the club by mutual consent.
McCombe left the Valiants in the summer to join Mansfield and signed a two-year contract with the Stags.
However, Mansfield manager Paul Cox has consistently opted not to pick either McCombe or fellow former Valiant George Pilkington in his starting line-up and McCombe has been restricted to just seven starts this season.
Ironically, another former Vale player, striker Calvin Andrew left Mansfield earlier this week.
