Adams: Grimmer will start for Vale
Manager Micky Adams says that loan signing Jack Grimmer will start in defence against Brentford.
There will be changes in the back four, that’s for sure. One is enforced with Richard Duffy, Jack Grimmer will play and I will let you people guess the rest…
Grimmer signed on a month’s loan from Fulham earlier this week after an ankle injury ruled Richard Duffy out for two to three weeks.
It is uncertain if Grimmer will play in central defence or as a full-back although a central position is more likely. Youngster Joe Davis is also pushing for a place in the Vale back four after a successful loan spell with Luton Town.
Adams told the pre-match press conference: “There will be changes in the back four, that’s for sure. One is enforced with Richard Duffy, Jack Grimmer will play and I will let you people guess the rest.
“Jack can double up as a full-back or centre-half.”
