Tomlin and Hugill on target for reserves
Gavin Tomlin and youngster Jordan Hugill were both on target as Port Vale reserves defeated Walsall 3-0.
Tomlin has missed six weeks of action after a troubling toe injury, but he played the full 90 minutes of the reserves game ,scoring the opening goal.
Meanwhile, Hugill, who has forced his way into first-team contention, scored twice to boost his hopes of a first-team recall.
First-teamers Sam Johnson, Richard Duffy, Chris Shuker, Chris Birchall, Kaid Mohamed and Rob Taylor also played as Vale named a strong reserve line-up.
