Former Port Vale target Mathias Doumbe has signed for League Two side Northampton Town, the club has announced.
I genuinely believe he’s going to be the little piece in the jigsaw that makes it all click…
Doumbe was a trialist during the summer and the Valiants were interested in signing the 33 year-old but Football League fair play quotas meant that they were unable to add him to their squad.
The French central defender was released by MK Dons in the summer.
Northampton boss Aidy Boothroyd told BBC Radio Northampton: “He was pretty unfortunate not to get another contract at MK Dons.
“I’ve been wanting [to sign him] for a while. I genuinely believe he’s going to be the little piece in the jigsaw that makes it all click.”
