Robbo: No-one’s place is safe
Defender Chris Robertson told Valiant Player that the team need to “tighten up” and that “no-one’s place is safe” after Vale’s indifferent start to the season.
No-one’s safe, the manager is big and brave enough to pick whoever he wants…
Vale’s defending was subject to criticism after Saturday’s 3-1 loss to Oldham and Robertson told Valiant Player: “Every mistake seems to be punished, we need to tighten up as a team. We can’t give teams as many chances as we’re giving them.”
Robertson also believes that if Vale can start finding the net it will ease the pressure adding: “It’s important we take our chances.”
Results appear to be down to fine margins with the defender suggesting that “little things are not going in our favour” but “when that changes it will make things a lot easier for us.”
Micky Adams has hinted at changes and Robertson has conceded that all the players will have to be at their best commenting: “No-one’s safe, the manager is big and brave enough to pick whoever he wants.”
