Manager Micky Adams has told the Sentinel that he is concerned about Tom Pope’s poor form and that the striker is carrying injuries.
I could quite easily have taken him off, he has a little calf strain and a problem with his hand…
Pope was top-scorer last season but has yet to score this season. Adams told the Sentinel: “Tom wasn’t at his best today. I have my own theories about why he’s not performing at the moment and he knows the way I think about it.
“I could quite easily have taken him off, he has a little calf strain and a problem with his hand that he is hiding away.
“He is a big player for us and had a chance in the first half that he would have scored last year.
“But it’s not about Tom Pope. The football club’s not about Tom Pope or me or anybody else, it is about a group of players.”
